Molly and Matthew's wedding, held in two of the University of Georgia’s most iconic locations, was one of heartfelt celebration, love, tradition, and timeless southern charm. As proud UGA alumni, they had a vision to host an unforgettable wedding that honored the place they came from. With a classic and elegant ceremony in the UGA Chapel to a fully transformed reception on Herty Field, every part of the day reflected their connection to Athens and their vision for an unforgettable day.

Thanks to Gilly Francis Events, every detail in the planning and coordination came together seamlessly and beautifully. As the couple shared their vows in the UGA Chapel, they were surrounded by family and friends with lots of love. The ceremony came alive when Candace Watts filled the room with beautiful music and heartfelt tunes.

Molly, the picture of elegance, made her way down the aisle in a gorgeous satin fit-and-flare wedding dress from Southern Charm Bridal. Enhancing her natural beauty, McKenzie Bone Artistry gave her a timeless bridal makeup look with a gorgeous updo that held her veil perfectly. Holding a white and blush floral bouquet arranged beautifully by Florals by Sulin, she met Matthew at the altar, and the whole room knew that “this was true love.”

Following the ceremony, guests made their way to Herty Field, a wide-open green space transformed into the most elegant wedding reception. A large, white tent from Oconee Events was custom-built to hold not only the reception tables but a built-in bar, and dance floor with a stage for the band! Gilly and her team worked hard to make this bride's dream come true, and with a little wedding expertise, the night was nothing shy of a masterpiece. Guests enjoyed the bar lounge area with mixed high and low top tables fit with floral tablecloths, white florals, and greenery throughout the whole space to truly enhance an organic, garden-inspired aesthetic. Guests enjoyed a thoughtful dining experience provided by Epting Events before dancing the night away with the newlyweds.

As the sun made its way down over the campus and string lights lit up the reception, Molly and Matthew cut into their gorgeous wedding cake from Classic City Confections. After the cake was served, the energy shifted, and the celebration really came alive. Twilight City Band kept the dance floor packed from start to finish. The bride even made her way up to the stage and finished with a classic “crowd surfing” moment! This night was truly unforgettable, and guests were smiling and laughing the entirety of the night
